The Flying Childers Stakes ( Group 2)

A 5 f sprint for two years old’s opens proceedings. Don’t you just love the quicker death.

Sir Prancealot will be ridden by Johnny Murtagh for Richard Hannon and comes here on the back of some good form. A maiden win was followed with a Listed win then a fourth in the Coventry to Dawn Approach. He went two better in France in the Prix Robert Papin running second to Reckless Abandon and then in Deauville in the Prix Morny was beaten the same distance by the same horse when back in fourth. The last three runs were all Group level, the first two Group 2’s and the latter, the Morny a Group 1.

Hoyam and Ceiling Kitty also carry group form. The latter won the Queen Mary beating the former and hasn’t run since. The former then won a Windsor maiden, ran third in a Group 3 at Ascot and took a Listed race at York. The York run was impressive as she had to switch late to find daylight and then ran on well to score easily.

Fire Eyes was second to Hoyam at York and will have benefited from the experience while Morawij must be considered after his fourth to Reckless Abandon in the Norfolk and second to Bungle Inthejungle in the Molecomb at Goodwood. Sound Of Guns isn’t without a chance on the back a Yarmouth maiden win (beating two subsequent winner’s) and a second in a Newbury Listed event.

While the favourite Sir Prancealot brings the best form the Queen Mary winner Ceiling Kitty brings a touch of pace. She was only 1/100th of a second of the juvenile record at Ascot and having had a break since she comes here fresh.

In the death rattle expect the filly to kill the clock in under 59 seconds.

Recommendation : Ceiling Kitty 11/2 win
