France

Three Group 1’s at Longchamp today, the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas), Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas), both over a mile, and the Prix Saint-Alary over 10f all for three-year-olds.

Hans Anderson at the Curragh last September

Ballydoyle contests all three with Hans Anderson going in the Poulains, Never Ending Story in the Pouliches, and Boogie Woogie in the Saint-Alary, all being ridden by Ryan Moore.

Never Ending Story winning the Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown

They all have chances as Hans Anderson and Never Ending Story were both winners last time out taking the 2,000 Guineas Trial and 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown. The form of the fillies’ race stands out particularly with Never Ending Story beating Matilda Picotte who ran third in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Boogie Woogie at Leopardstown in October

Boogie Woogie also has good form to bring, she was second to Savethelastdance, the now Oaks favourite who won the Cheshire Oaks by 22L on Tuesday before winning her own Maiden impressively at Naas by 5½L.

They’re all worth backing as the ground at Longchamp today is heavy as it was when Hans Anderson and Never Ending Story won their trials at Leopardstown and also at Naas when Boogie Woogie won her maiden.

Recommendation

Poule d’Essai des Poulains – Hans Anderson 8/1 ew

Poule d’Essai des Pouliches – Never Ending Story 3/1 win (Nap)

Prix Saint-Alary – Boogie Woogie 5/1 win
