*Romantic Proposal winning the Flying Five at the Curragh last year*

There’s a lot to like about Eddie Lynam’s Romantic Proposal in the July Cup today.

She was a G1 winner over 5f last year and was a very easy winner in April on her seasonal debut at Naas again over the minimum trip.

Not seen since Eddie has been patient with her bypassing Royal Ascot keeping her fresh for this. While her Group 1 win was over 5f she has won over 6f, at Listed level, beating Teresa Mendoza in the Dash at the Curragh last year.

Whist the opposition will be tough, the first three home in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes, the Godolphin pair, Naval Crown and Creative Force, and the Australian, Artorius, will be hard to overcome as will the three-year-old Perfect Power, winner of the Commonwealth Cup, they all have to overcome the short turnaround since Royal Ascot and as seen yesterday with Inspiral that can be hard to do.

Romantic Proposal is the value bet for a team that is proven when it comes to producing sprinters and they can add a second July Cup to go along with the one Slade Power won in 2014.
