*Kyprios leaves the ring at Leopardstown*

The young pretender, the 4yo, Kyprios will go off favourite for Aidan O’Brien after winning the Saval Beg at Leopardstown by 14L from Sunchart over 1m6f. He’d previously won the Vintage Crop at Navan over the same trip by 2¾L, from his full sister, Search For A Song. Bred by Moyglare Stud Farm the son of Galileo out of Polished Gem hadn’t been seen for nearly a year after running in the Lingfield Derby Trial where he was well beaten by Third Realm and subsequent Derby winner Adayar.

To justify his favourites tag he’ll have to beat the 8yo Stradivarius. He’ll be the most popular winner having taken this race in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He ran fourth last year bouncing back after with two wins at G2 level before going down twice at top level. He showed his enthusiam hasn’t wained with a fine win in the Yorkshire Cup this year where he beat Tuhderous and the reopposing Tashkhan with Seach A Song 3L back in forth.

Tony Mullins Princess Zoe might also be a crowd pleaser. Second last year she ran a wonderful race on good to firm ground which should have been against her. Beaten twice since she showed she’s up for this with a cracking win here in the Sagaro Stakes.

Richard Hannon’s Mojo Star might have surprised when running second to Adayar in the Derby last year however he showed it was no fluke when runniing second in the St Leger to Hurricane Lane. His last run in the Arc pointed to him needing a trip when finishing midfield.

It’s a cracking renewal albeit the ground has led to the withdrawal of Trueshan. Good to firm will favour of the youth although Princess Zoe did her best to overcome it last year you would think it will be too quick for her. Of the 4yo’s, it is Kyprios who stands out, he should get the trip given his breeding and he is the one all have to beat.

Kyprios 6/4 win
