Today could be another good day for the Irish.

The Albany Stakes (G3) for fillies over 6 f is a typically competitive affair with the best form coming from a recent Listed race at Naas at the beginning of June. It was won by the Richard Fahey’s Sandiva who on the back of the performance heads the market here at 5/2. She beat Heart Focus 2 L who herself was 4 L clear of Fig Roll who ran a fine race here when third to Rizeena in the Queen Mary.

The market is of the view the Bolger filly who tried to burn off the opposition that day is now exposed but she may be ridden more tactically today and if given a patient ride she represents great each way value and is as high as 25/1 on some lists.

Royal Ascot’s Derby the King Edward VII Stakes (G2) has attracted Battle Of Morengo. He ran fourth in the Derby after getting involved in a battle for lead with the lit up Dawn Approach. This forced Joseph to go for home sooner than he would have liked and again if ridden patently he will be the one to beat.

The big one of the day is The Coronation Stakes (G1) and again there’s an Irish filly who catches the eye. Viztoria didn’t get to run in the Irish Guineas on account of the very quick ground that day at the Curragh. Rain falling on the course now on top of watered ground will be music to the ears of of trainer Eddie Lynam. His filly had a lovely prep at the Curragh in the Athasi Stakes (G3) at the beginning of May when a very comfortable winner and today against very classy opposition she can come out on top.
