A three-pronged attack on the Saratoga Derby by the Irish.

Bolshoi Ballet, Aidan O’Brien’s winner of the Belmont Derby last time out in New York returns stateside accompanied by Jessica Harrington’s Cadillac and Joseph O’Brien’s State Of Rest.

There’s no doubt about the high esteem in which Bolshoi Ballet is held in at home in Ballydoyle, Aidan told us so before the Derby at Epsom, a race in which he trailed in seventh, easily explained after when it was realized he’d been struck into on his right hind. Injury free at Belmont, we got to see the ability his trainer had referred to prior to Epsom when over a trip of 10f he came wide off the turn to dance away to the finish line, Du Jour 2¼L adrift in fourth.

Cadillac and State Of Rest both made their seasonal debut’s on Derby Day at the Curragh with Cadillac taking the G3 International Stakes over 1m2f and State Of Rest running a closing third in the Listed Celebration Stakes over a mile, both will come on for the run’s.

The trio travel with confidence. Bolshoi Ballet can win a second Grade 1 with the other pair taking the places, a good chance of a green white and gold trifecta.
