Precise has put herself at the top of the pecking order for juvenile fillies. She knocked Composing off when taking the G1 Moyglare at the Curragh. Aidan O’Brien sends the pair into battle again, adding two more to the ticket, Moments Of Joy and Sugar Island.
Both Moments Of Joy and Sugar Island are trice raced, both Maiden winners first time out, neither added to that in their next runs when upped in class.
Composing went off favourite for the Moyglare; she’d impressed in three previous winning runs, but only managed fourth place, outgunned by Precise, a previous two-time winner, she was caught for toe, with Precise showing the better turn of foot. Aidan sent her out to bat again in the Goffs Million; this time, stablemate Dorset caught her, she finished third.

Precise at the Curragh
Legacy Link has had two runs, third in a Maiden first time out, she went clear next time out, doing it easily. She’s classy.
Dance To The Music has the benefit of three starts; she’s a Maiden winner and G3 winner. She took the Sweet Solera Stakes here in August in battling fashion. She then fell at her first try at Group 1 level in the G1 Natalma Stakes at Woodbine, finishing fourth.
Joseph O’Brien sends Queen Of Hawali, trice raced, she left Moments Of Joy well behind last time, winning going away. Impressive.
Moon Target hasn’t added to her first wins; she’s beaten at Group level in three runs since, the first of those, she was only ¾L behind Precise at Goodwood.
Evolutionist was third to Composing last time out in a G2 at the Curragh. She needs to show improvement from that run to win this; however, her previous run, her Maiden win at Newmarket, offers plenty of encouragement.
It’s hard to see Amora Queen or Venetian Sun troubling the judge; neither has displayed the level of form to win this. The former is unbeaten in two runs, albeit at an ordinary level.
Conclusion
One suspects the pecking order might change again.
Irish fillies have won this six times in the last eleven years, Aidan has won four, and Joseph has won two. Precise is a solid 7/4f and the money has come for Composing over the twenty-four hours, she’s been backed in from 14/1 to 3/1. That gives Ballydoyle a great chance of doing it again; however, at the prices, the one to take them on with is Evolutionist. She didn’t fire at the Curragh behind Composing, the 7f trip may not have been in her favour. Before that, in her Maiden win in July, over a mile, when running green, she still won well with Legacy Link 5¼L back in third, the third favourite here.
Recommendation
Evolutionist 33/1 ew
