Every Squirrel Finds A Nut

The season turns and the end draws near.

The crescendo’s about to begin. Lonchamp books the limelight with seven Group 1’s on Sunday with a pretty tasty four Group 2’s on Saturday to warm up. Ascot supports with three Group 3’s. Follow up with the new look Champions Day on the 15th of October with a cracking Newmarket card on the 8th and then, there just the the Racing Post Trophy left on the 22nd. The French will continue until the Criterium at Saint Cloud signs off the European pattern season. Then the big bang, the Breeders Cup and it’s over. The season draws in along with the nights. Flat racing fans will like the ones with furry tails disappear until the spring.

Between now and then there is a lot to decide and even more to enjoy. There’s still time to fatten up. We know the best three year old miler, and what a star he has been, but the the middle distance is yet to be decided and the remaining two year old contests will either cement or radically change the picture for next years classics.

Let’s enjoy the end of season show, the best of the year will be on stage for the last thrill before the curtain comes down.

The squirrel gathers. It will be a while before the twitter of swallows will be heard in spring but before we sleep patternracing would like to welcome a new follower. Yeehaa.
